The manager Vinnie lacks professionalism , customer service skills and should not be in the food Industry let alone management. Maybe a dishwasher position would suit him best...this way he doesn't have to deal so much with the public.
On top of that , the food was awful! The portions small, the appetizer barely enough for two people to share. The mash potatoes and vegetable medley that came with my steak about a spoonful serving. The portion of the steak was fine but it was overcooked and tasteless. Vinnie ruined my evening by refusing to bring me a glass of wine with my dinner because my sister had 3 drinks in front of her......if he wanted to refuse my sister I would understand but to refuse me ...It didn't make sense. Vinnie stated one drink at a time per customer. My sister ordered two drinks a corona and a glass of wine ..the waitress stated only one drink per customer at a time ...we said ok. My sister said ok but please do not take too long in bringing me my other drink.
The waitress brought over first her wine and a Mojito for me.
The waitress takes our order and short time later brings over the corona for my sister. My sisters wine glass is still full.
I didn't like my Mojito,a bit too sweet for me. The waitress asked how was my drink I said I did not like it , a bit too sweet for me she offered to bring me something else ...I said no thank you ...I'll just keep it...I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. She said ok.
My sister takes a sip of my Mojito and said she liked it
and suggested she would drink it and I could order something.
So I agree. I said I would order a glass of wine. The waitress comes over to our table and I ask her to bring me a glass of wine. Next thing I know ...the manager is at our table his first sentence is oh no, "THAT" is not going on here! I asked him what is "THAT" that we are doing? He continues to explain the one drink at a time rule....and said the table was past the limit of drinks on the table ...not more than one drink per customer at a time.and said that my sister had 3 drinks in front of her. I explained how she obtained my drink.
Why was he reprimanding us for something he should be taking up with his waitress. He refused to bring me a glass of wine. A glass of wine that I wanted to enjoy w my meal. He threaten to clear our table meaning to call the police and have us removed . Why????
All we did was order drinks and food . We had not drank previously, we were not loud or rude to anyone . He walked away. Even after my sister drank the Mojito and only had 2 drinks in front of her the waitress said the manager Vinnie still would not allow her to bring me a glass of wine.
Not allow for ME to have a glass of wine was ridiculous!
The waitress brings over our order to go , the bill for our meal. My sister is still has her drink in front of her.
Again, here comes the manager
Vinnie and he said to me are "WE" ok ? And I said noooo....we are not ok he continue to say oh, I thought you understood the rule. I said i understand the rule but that doesnt mean I agree with it or that I accept it. I came out this evening to enjoy a meal with my sister for her birthday
And what I got was a terrible experience, he ruined my evening! At that time he asked if I wanted my glass of wine?
I said no. The glass of wine I wanted to enjoy with my meal which I am already done eating, my order to go is bagged and my bill is on the table ....the only thing I want to do now is leave ! I told him he ruined my evening and ruined my experience there at Applebee's
He didn't say anything....no apologizes , nothing!
I will never recommend Applebee's to anyone as a matter of fact I will share my experience with as many people I can ...if my experience at Applees can influence someone not to go to that establishment I will keep sharing.
The manager kept coming over at our table and harrasing us for no good reason.
